I’m glad you asked!I wrote this Fruit of the Spirit curriculum for my three year old daughter (at the time) and niece (also three at the time). This curriculum was an activity that first and foremost taught the girls about the Fruits of the Spirit. Many ideas, strong feelings, and behaviors were forming at the age of three and I felt it would be helpful to teach my daughter how to think and show God’s love to others through Paul’s teachings in Galatians 5:22-23. Secondly, this curriculum was designed to give my daughter and niece something to talk about on the phone. When creating and enjoying this material, our families lived several states apart. Learning about the Fruits of the Spirit was something they did “together” even though they were apart.
What is in this curriculum?
This curriculum serves toddlers to 5th grade. Within each of the nine Fruits of the Spirit, there are two lessons: (1) curriculum for toddlers-Kindergarten and (2) curriculum for elementary-aged children. Within each lesson, there is a main goal of what your child should take away from the lesson, scripture, discussion, activity, action, a hands-on section where the child will make something, and finally an “extra” section. In the extra section, there are four to five additional activities for you and your child to do together such as adding to a Fruit of the Spirit necklace after each lesson and making a delicious treat to go along with the fruit that was just learned. There are also several links to videos of the crafts and a few of the object lessons.
